Dr. Riddle has been working for Rolls-Royce for the last 10 years in the technical area of through-life degradation of plant materials, including irradiation damage and thermal embrittlement effects. This has included specification and management of fracture toughness test programmes, and post-test analysis based on a detailed understanding of toughness testing standards (ASTM E1921 and E1820). He also has experience of application of fracture toughness measurements to structural integrity assessment.
